Job Description: Damage Control Clerk – Night Shift (Freezer)
Department: Warehouse Operations / Inventory ControlSchedule: Sunday–Thursday, 6:00 PM – Completion

Position Summary
The Night Shift Damage Control Clerk is responsible for maintaining freezer inventory accuracy by proactively identifying, documenting, salvaging, and disposing of damaged product during night shift operations. This role plays a critical part in inventory integrity, loss prevention, bin accuracy, and housekeeping within the freezer environment, while supporting overall warehouse efficiency.Key Responsibilities
Damage Identification & Inventory Control
- Identify and document all damaged product within the freezer during the night shift.
- Scan damaged inventory using RF technology and accurately record findings.
- Determine whether damaged product is salvageable or requires disposal.
- Correct inventory issues related to damaged or mis-slotted product.
Product Salvage & Disposal
- Repackage salvageable product using approved materials and return to the correct pick slot.
- Collect and segregate unsalvageable damaged product into designated containers.
- Stage damaged product in assigned damage control areas for management review.
- Remove inventoried product from warehouse floors to prevent damage or safety issues.
Freezer Housekeeping & Bin Integrity
- Maintain bin integrity through routine inspection and corrective action.
- Clean up spills, breakages, and debris involving inventoried product.
- Support overall freezer cleanliness and product protection.
Documentation & Communication
- Complete Night Shift Damage Sheets accurately and submit documentation timely.
- Communicate damage findings to Inventory Supervisors and Warehouse Management.
- Provide documentation support during audits and inventory reconciliations.
Additional Duties
- Assist with weight verification audits, rotation error checks, loading audits, and customer audits as assigned.
- Provide backfill and operational support to night shift warehouse supervision as needed.
- Perform other related duties consistent with the scope of the role.
Qualifications
Required
- Ability to work in a frozen warehouse environment for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of warehouse inventory processes or ability to learn.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work night shift schedule.
Preferred
- Previous warehouse, inventory control, or damage control experience.
- Familiarity with freezer operations and safety practices.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in sub-zero temperatures with appropriate freezer gear.
- Frequent walking, bending, lifting, and standing throughout the shift.
- Ability to safely lift and handle damaged product within guidelines.
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $15.00Operational Value
